Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries and then all 7 continents (check out our documentary here: usdos.info/border/video/rKt6q2eiq5usnZ8), we had no plans to slow down, until 2020 decided to force us to ;) which is when we bought a converted Sprinter van to start exploring our own country for the first time. #Vanlife was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

  • There’s worse weather in Canada. Trust me this looked like a Sunday drive. Which sucks. Because you guys were so scared and I’m glad you two made it out okay.

  • Yellowstone River. Missouri River isn't in Yellowstone. Maybe do some research.

  • Im outside yellowstone right now ! Cant wait to see it !!!!!!!!

  • Just a normal snowstorm drive for a native Connecticut guy.

  • Might be a good time to replace those wipers. They are showing streak lines

  • You did the best thing by not parking on the side of the rode. Getting off the interstate was so so smart

  • New subscriber here, and yes, I loved this video. I don’t know how I am just finding you when I have religiously been watching vanlife videos for 3 years????🤷‍♀️. I live in a van too. 🙋‍♀️ Questions: How cold 🥶 has it been over night with you living in your van? And, what kind of heating system do you have? I have slept in the van when it has been in the teens with no problem. My heat uses gas from the gas tank. However, I have been afraid of my tanks 🥶 freezing.

  • I’m from California so I can relate to freaking out over snow

  • The people who are laughing at them seem to think they are used to this kind of weather. SMH.

  • Lmao this looks like such a mild winter compared to what we get in Minnesota, I totally understand how scary it can be especially being from Tennessee but yeah this is a casual Minnesota winter day for us haha

  • Glad I saw this b4 going to sleep. I was raised in snow & ice country, so much worse than this actually, because we always expected black ice. Yet I drove through it one night, on a bridge between Davenport (Iowa) and Moline (Illinois) - and we lost traction going down a steep section from the bridge, veering off the to the right, and then down an embankment, full of snow - and plowed our way down. But we were in a 4W drive truck, finally on a flat piece of land, and then drove our way back up to the road. The point is not what was accomplished eventually - it was the realization that we were not in control That was, truly, terrifying. Loving your third video I watched tonight, and now I am done. You guys are brave though, I give you that.

  • Being from TN, I can see how super stressful this weather would be on an extra long day of travel, having your whole life in that van and seeing big trucks and other 4 wheelers in the rhubarb already! Good job staying safe. I’m a truck driver and I’ve driven all over North America for 28 years now. The roads can get nasty out that way, in an instant. I hate when I have to keep going in that crap! (Hauling for concert tours for many years and also hauling produce, I’ve had lots of overnighters in hours of crap weather and chaining up, etc, ugh). You did get some fantastic winter footage, so it was kind of worth the stress. But you are not allowed to drive in that crap again! Lol. Thanks for sharing!!! Stay safe and keep having fun!

  • I love your videos, you guys!!! I've never been to Yellowstone (or any other national park) so I'm really grateful you both are sharing your travels with us!!!!

  • So you two are from TN, and that weather is scary for you? C'mon!

  • Jesus Christ DIED for our sins; He was BURIED, and He ROSE AGAIN on the third day (1 Cor. 15:1-4). We are saved by GRACE through FAITH in the BLOOD atonement of Jesus Christ. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

  • We drove through the snowy rocky mountains here in Canada at night, and it was terrifying. This is pretty normal winter weather here lol

  • Driving through snow storms are so scary, I got to school in western New York so definitely have been through my fair share! I good tip my dad gave me is to look at the tires in front of you. If there is water coming off the tires then black ice has most likely not formed yet but if there is no water coming off the tires then there is black ice! Either way still be cautious!

  • You haven't seen snow til you see Lake effect off lake Ontario dumping multiple feet daily and you can't see a few feet in front of you.

  • It seems to me that God had His Holy Angels watching over you both.

  • Kara reminds me of primary school teacher, had such a huge crush on her 😍

  • Stfu

  • Spring storms like that are pretty common in Wyoming & Montana. Pay attention to weather warnings on phone apps while traveling though. I'm glad you got through it okay and had a wonderful visit to Yellowstone.

  • Thanks Kara&Nate...taking Us to Yellowstone..😀I Always wanted to go..and i've been thinking about those geysers ever sense'

  • The guy wearing shorts 😥🥴

  • Yep, I drove for the first time in my life in snow this year during the Texas snowstorm in Feb. I was staying at a friends house because my house lost power for 4 days, the last day it was still snowing but the power came back on. So I decided to risk it and drive back home . During the drive, I had to drive on multiple bridges to get home . I drove around 20 mph, and I saw the car in front of me skid I was like crap, Im probably going to skid too. So my car skidded perpendicular to the road, thankfully there wasn't any cars coming in the opposite direction, I lifted my foot off the gas pedal and turned the wheel to the direction of the skid. Lost control of my car for five second till we were off the bridge, scariest five second of my life.

  • Kara you guys are pretty adventurous 😉🤷🏼‍♀️ say where did you buy your face mask? It fits really nicely.

  • I lived through almost 8miles of driving in the rain with no brakes and no really great place to stop the car (I was in a really sketchy part of my city) and honestly I feel blessed to have lived passed that night. I finally got to my block and parked on the very end of the block (safest thing was a "drive into" spot) by the time I turned the car off I was balling my eyes out for 30 min alone in the car.

  • Same here, this isn't even close to a white out.

  • Amazing beautiful Yellowstone, wonderful vlog , so glad you got through that nasty weather..stay safe , God Bless from Canada 🇨🇦

  • D r a m a t i c

  • Black ice, sometimes called clear ice, is a thin coating of glaze ice on a surface, especially on roads. The ice itself is not black, but visually transparent, allowing the often black road below to be seen through it.

  • Driving in Colorado all my life has taught me a couple things. 1. Slow down. 2. Avoid the roads where the semi trucks run during winter storms.

  • OMGGGG So Scary! Police Officer while you blew through the STOP SIGN! WOOO HOOO!!! You guys made through it! So exciting and feels so much safer. So great that you finally made it to your tour! Hot Chocolate! HAHA. So cool to do old faithful. Too bad it's not regular anymore though. OLD GEYSER!!!! HAHAHA. The water is hot! Don't touch it or it will burn you!! If it's blue it's not for you! It's stunning! Kissing while smelling rotten eggs. SO FUN! You guys are so inspiring! Keep it UP!!!

  • Going to fast on ice toooo fast man

  • I have been following you guys around the world for years now. When Covid hit, I quickly realized that I was all caught up on your vlog posts. And I was sad! But I love how you turned your whole project upside down and decided to explore the US! You are taking me places that I would have never been able to see right in my own country. Thank you for your hustle! Love all your content! I hope you come to NJ sometime soon. I'll show you around the Jersey Shore!

  • Wow!

  • We are watching and protecting you from above! 😍🙏🌞💖🤗

  • While I understand that she was emotional I don't understand the comment "Now that we are here, I don't know what we are going to do" Uh, let's see parked safely in a truck stop parking lot, with lots of people around for assistance, while sitting in your home that has water, food and heat. I'm thinking go take a shower at the truck stop, eat, hang out until the snow stops, edit videos, sleep... Not exactly the same thing if you were in a vehicle that was not your home and you were lost and stuck in a snowstorm on a backcountry road.

  • So many emotions! This was beautiful - but so cold! How did you stay warm in the van? Very scary driving in that snow. I’m a Florida person now after 30 years living here! 🌞 so glad you’re safe!

  • People saying they are laughing at them is so invalidating to their experience. They are in an environment they aren’t used to and I’m so sorry that this happened and glad you are both safe.

  • You guys are amazing

  • Inexperience driver on the road should have not been driving let's get back on the road. Idiots. Some reason 3 hours of sleep is a smart idea.

  • It’s funny how fast Wyoming weather can change, it goes from beautiful blue skies to cold snow storms 🥶

  • Fill the van up. Fill your propane tank and boondock til it's over. Why are you risking your home like that ?

  • Glad you two are safe

  • -20 Celsius is crazy! How the hell do you keep on the van!?

  • I have been to yellow stone its so pretty so sorry your experience was not good. 😓

  • I’m from Florida and I drove through all the blizzards and snow storms in Oregon Washington and Montana. You just have to take your time and be careful

  • if you ever start to slip, do not brake! feet off the gas and brake and try to steer out of it as best you can, use judgement of course

  • *laughs in Minnesotan*

  • Why didn't you check road and weather conditions ahead of time? It's not like you are on pre-planned vacation with no slack! Also, not sure if driving into the wee hours in winter weather up north is advisable. As for the park, I'd love to see it in winter sometime. I wonder how much those coach tours run, can't be cheap.

  • Thank you so much for putting up c° 🇨🇦

  • Faith???How do you keep the LORD with you?

  • Girl I’m with you❣️. I feel the same way about driving in that 🤬! Sugar & Ice! Your man is brave💗

  • I went to Utah for spring break and saw Alot of bison on Antelope National Park (I think national) but they were huge and cool

  • I love how I know exactly where you were because there's so little on that drive that all the landmarks really stood out. check out Cargo_Curtis on instagram

  • Visit Delaware

  • Guys you have to watch the weather hourly. So glad you got off the highway and are safe!

  • Happens every winter up here... kinda use to it.

  • I whent their in for summer prismatic spring is the best and other cool stuff thir to

  • Everyone: OMG BLACK ICE! Me as an Ohioan: *Drifts car over black ice like it’s normal.*

  • Are the animals cold ???? :(

  • lmfao what a female and dude is wearing sunglasses while saying he cant see

  • I’m so glad you guys are safe and got out of that bad weather condition. Praying for your safe travels ahead. God bless.

  • We are new Englanders bum bum bum bum bum

  • The scary makes you appreciate the otherwise boring later. Oh boy we've been there. Keep traveling.

  • Cries from driving on icy road, IMMA BADASS 😂

  • This is why my mom is scared of night driving 😂

  • Buffalo are amazing!!!

  • Dont drive if your tired.

  • Winter lesson, dont travel if you dont need too. Driving in snow or unpredictable weather is horrible, always risky

  • I'm waiting for the scary part

  • I've been in this situation many many times! Make sure that you have winter tires, and an experienced driver! Drive with caution lights on, well below speed limit. You should be fine!

  • 10:25 It's the Madison River. Easy to see how you can get confused after only 3 hours sleep! The Madison eventually flows to the Three Forks in Montana to form the official headwaters of the Missouri.

  • This is normal for me

  • Tony3d aka Dave2d should roast them

  • We got hit by the same storm here in CO and Got 34 inches of snow. We had to cancel our Spring break plans to camp at arches in Moab! Glad ya'll are okay!

  • When was this ... we were there last 3/28-30 @ West Yellowstone but the park was closed.. so the only way was to ride that big yellow bus we saw it parked nearby our cabin🤭

  • Omigod you guys got so lucky. Beautiful beautiful sites that I will probably never get to see because I'm all the way on the East Coast. Thank you for bringing it to me

  • Wowwww. Glad you are safe

  • I live in Michigan this lady is fucken killin me 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

  • drink too much coffee🤦🏼‍♀️🧋🧋🧋🧋🧋🧋🧋😉

  • I'm from south africa and I would never get to see this, thank you for sharing your beautiful country with those around the world.

  • If it weren't for counseling the last 15 years, I definitely would not be ok right now

  • i went to yellowstone june of 2019, and one day it was 70 and the next day it was 20 and snowing in june

  • Now that you’ve left Yellowstone, you need to watch the movie Supervolcano.

  • Was going way to fast

  • I’m from Nebraska, and yes that’s how the weather here works.

  • Yeah, get some winter wipers and studded snow tires. That whole area can get bad fast

  • that happened to me in south Connecticut almost into nyc, freak snow storm, i was loaded with my truck and horse trailer, out of no where I almost ran into an 18 wheeler that did not have working lights. I could not stop praising my husband for his good driving skills to get around it and miss it.

  • As a Canadian, this made me laugh 😂

  • Oh that’s interesting. Note to Hollywood, it is easier to feign crying if you’re wearing sunglasses.

  • How do you get tires to squeal on ice?

  • Your titles are so “Drama Queen”. I guess that’s what you are willing to do to get the click$. It feels like I’m watching one of those scripted “reality” TV shows. I bet you have amazing “fish that got away” stories.

    • We were thinking of driving to Yellowstone from Sacramento 2 weeks ago and I'm glad it didn't happen.

  • Omg. If every one in Norway. Drive so bad in winter. The whole country would shyt down. This is not a winter storm. Trust me 😆😆 But maybe it would help with winter tires.

  • Just discovered your vlog. Glad you both are safe. Watch a marathon of your vlogs from your visit to the Philippines (I’m Filipino) until you upgrade your van. Not knowing that it was already 2:30 AM. Then got to wake up early today with for my run. Tired while running due to lack of sleep but it is worth it. Your videos are so beautiful very clear and the shots are amazing. Most of all it is very informative. Love it. Continue what your doing.

  • The most dangerous part of winter traveling in the US is your first step outside your hotel in the morning. Many proprietors are too cheap or lazy to throw a little ice melt outside the exits to keep people from slipping on icy ground and bashing their heads in.

  • Where did you go in Nebraska? Safe travels guys!
